Marcus Morrell

Marcus is responsible for helping clients anticipate and manage uncertainty by exploring medium and long term futures with a focus on business strategy, foresight and innovation. Project management, workshop design and facilitation are a core part of his work.

He has designed and facilitated dozens of events for a wide range of clients both within Arup and externally. Internally he has run business strategy workshops for the Infrastructure Practice, the East Asia Region board, the Global Transport Executive and for the Commercial, Rail, Transactions Advice and Fire businesses.

Externally, Marcus has delivered projects and workshop events for clients such as the World Economic Forum, World Bank, C40, TEDGlobal, IBM, InterContinental Hotels, Grosvenor, Corio, the Co-operative Group and the Institution of Civil Engineers.

He led Arup’s contribution as Knowledge Partner to the World Economic Forum’s SlimCity initiative, which resulted in the publication of the SlimCity Knowledge Cards. More recently, he has helped deliver market analysis for Arup’s UKMEA board focussed on drivers shaping the future of Arup’s business environment in the UK, and the impacts of the Spending Review on the firm’s  UK business.

Prior to joining Arup in 2007, he was Executive Director of one of the world’s first dedicated online video channels, Big Picture TV – an award-winning multi-media platform broadcasting talking head video interviews with global thought-leaders in the field of sustainability.
